Mongrel
Hi guys, Had the 200 out at the weekend when I got stuck in the middle of a fairly deep, muddy, wet hole. Net result, a carpet full of mud the consistency of oil! Something didn't like its soaking. Basically it initially manifested itself as a 'sticking' starter solenoid, a few key turns and she'd suddenly fire in to life. Today, she won't start, similar sort of symptoms but she started easily enough off a bump. However, now I've lost the electric windows, radio, interior light and clock. Exterior lights, wipers and indicators/horn etc still work. Fuses all appear ok........suggestions?
catsinthewelder
Electric window switches and the radio are on the centre console so could all your problem bits be earthed or fed from there? Theres a rubber panel rivited on around the gear levers and mine certainly isn't waterproof. I'm sure someone who knows what they're talking about will be along later, I've only been a Land Rover owner for a month.
DrRob
I know this doesn't help but vehicles are not built for wading in deep water / mud - seen it too many times over the last 35 years. It kills them! Good luck with getting your motor working properly again
Mongrel
It wasn't massively deep, certainly no more than 6" up the door. It was more a matter of how long we sat there with it seeping in, still no more than a couple of inch over the carpet when she came out though. I am suspecting an iffy earth re the console, not so sure on the starter.
JeffR
Check the collection of relays behind the plastic panels in each foot well.
