mrol
Is there any difference in sound proofing / noise insulation between the 2.2 and 2.4 models?
need4speed
No I don't think so. I think all the Pumas are the same. Carpet might differ according to spec but I think the soundproofing will be the same. HTH
Maverik
Other than the fact they started to use less in the 2.2's... the actual shape of the stuff is identical...
need4speed
In which areas did they cut back mav?
Maverik
We've got an 11, and 08 plate which are identical, basically the XS spec without the half leather, great vehicles with full carpeted interior, for the 14 and 15 plates the carpet wasn't an option we where told, so its the usual rubberised plastic covering in the front two footwells and the seat box, thats it other than the rubber mat in the back, all other panels are bare. There's a marked difference in the noise levels between the two.

Happyoldgit
That said the 2.2 is a bit quieter than the 2.4 even without the carpet.
Maverik
That said the 2.2 is a bit quieter than the 2.4 even without the carpet. I'd probably say its smoother rather than quieter... and less gutsy... I'd go with the 2.4 any day.
