Heavy Clutch Again

Recommended Posts

OK Still have not sorted out my heavy clutch pedal.

I know some people have changed the pedal to more modern ones with the updated springs,

Just got this one taken off a 2014 defender TDCI,

My defender is 1990 G Reg 200tdi, with the old pedal and big heavy long spring.

from what Ive read the pedal and box is a straight swap, but think I will need my old master cylinder, as this one looks different.

Anyone done this change before???

master cylinder looks the similar to mine but the pipe to slave connects where the switch is mounted & no side connection. the switch/adaptor/pipe connection look like additional bolt in parts for later vehicles, so the master cylinder should be a common part across the complete 90/110/defender range.

see 1st item 1 part number [2007 on vehicles] in http://lrcat.com/#30/4/45161

vehicles upto 2007 item 1 in http://lrcat.com/31#31/4/53771

note same part numbers used for virtually all 90.110 & later vehicles.

which assist spring is on the 2014 pedal assembly, as it's not visible in your photo's ? should be this one http://www.brit-car.co.uk/product.php/97146/3599/clutch_pedal_torsion_spring_def_ma_

the spring above & it's associated parts were used in 300tdi on vehicles, I had a 300tdi pedal assembly fitted back in 1994 to my 1989 110CSW. the pedal housing is the same
