Guest
Ross, You can remove the AS10 if you reprogram the ECU, some utility trucks had them removed by LRSV. However why would you want to? Central locking works fine with it, and so does a pre heater. If you want to add further security add another alarm on top, however if I were you I would think about moving the Alarm sounder from inside the NSF wing, maybe changing it for the one with a built in Battery and fitting inline fuses to the indicators. Then fit some physical security like the x-eng pedal lock. Jason
hambley84
Mine was a sv but a didn't have central locking as standard all the dash is off at the moment but unsure how to go about disconnecting it all. I have some sort of coil sensor around the ignition that I think picks up the fob? So if I want il all removed I'd have to take it to main dealer
Guest
Special vehicles Removed some for the utility companies, not all SV trucks. the coil around the barrel is the pickup for the transducer in the Key fob. It is unlikely that a main dealer would be able or willing to remove the AS10, but still can't see why you would want to as central locking could be retro fitted to your truck. If you were still determined to have it done either Ian at IRB developments (porney on here) or Pete at BAS would be able to help you. Jason. hambley84
Because there is not enough spare ways on the alarm to have what I want and with the fob transducer there I can fit remote start as it won't pick up the fob

hambley84
Because I need to leave it running without the keys in it and I like having it

Guest
As above it can definitely be removed, post 2002 it is actually easier as the ecu is able to be reprogrammed. As I said you need to get someone who understands the ECU programming to do it as the AS10 checksum needs to be removed in several places but both Ian & Pete can do this in their sleep.
