Key fob not working

It may not be the original fob for the car - but it's easy (with something like NanoCom or RovaCom) to program any fob to the car. I programmed my Freelander to use my Defender fob (as they are the same) - meaning I only needed one on my keyring!

If you live anywhere near Horsham - I'd be happy to program yours for free!

They can lose sync if the battery has gone flat or the phases of the moon have wandered... with the car unlocked (and a working key & fob on hand to get you out of trouble) try pressing the "unlock" button on the unknown fob 5 times in a row, it *should* then sync to the car & work if it's been previously coded to the vehicle.
