easytiger
Hi I am planning a last minute trip to Anglesey for a week, any suggestions for green laning in the area, bearing in mind that we will be in a 110s with loaded roof racks Thanks Mark
GW8IZR
Hi There are no longer any unsurfaced BOAT on the island, there is a bit of illegal off roading here and NWP do seem to follow up and pursue reports so certainly checking as you have is worth while. Llangollen isnt too far and I think there are some ROW in the national park around Ffestiniog but I'm ashamed to say I've never bothered to look, I think that is where I would make my starting point. Sorry cant be of more help but enjoy the visit
easytiger
Thanks for this Paul, various forums report that wild camping is possible on the island, is this true?
GW8IZR
I have seen people camping round the coast and no one seems to pay much attention although Holyhead is having a bit of stress with immigration at the moment so a bit of tension there. Around south stack seems popular, maybe moving around would be sensible rather than pitching up in just one place.. I notice Anglesey CC are putting up a few no overnight parking signs but unless you are making a nuisance I cant imagine there would be any issues. Its hard to get the CC to do anything important. I did get bolocked for taking my dog on a beach once by a man in a 110 - I pointed out that my dog was a lot less of a nuisance than him rampaging up and down the beach with his flashing lights and he drove off ;-) HTH (edit) it probably worth avoiding the farming areas and sticking to the coast. easytiger
Had a fantastic time in North Wales, most people were really friendly, found some awesome roads in Snowdonia and plenty of wild camping, will definitely be back!
