simonr
The only way I can see this happening is if the clutch pressure plate has broken internally. Normally it uses a bit which works like a see-saw so when you press the pedal, the pressure plate is lifted away from the friction plate against a spring. If the fulcrum / spring were broken, both sides of the see-saw would move in & out together rather than in opposite directions - giving the symptoms you have. Sadly, the only option is to change the clutch! Si
dirtydiesel
Your clutch fork pivot shaft has siezed , the clutch is over engaging The reverse operation you are experiencing is due the clutch fingers inverting and locking into the driven plate. It is a very common fault on the type of box used in behind the 1.8.
