Two door RR Classic front seat replacements need ideas

Just starting a resto on a two door but I intend to use every day. I hate the front seats as I'm 6'4 also the build is going to completely modernised, I have a list of faults sorry character I need to improve or refine. So seats is the first I thought about putting the later ones in however they don't have (unless I can find csk ones) tilt function. Does anyone have any suggestions of alternatives that are comfortable and in keeping but comfortably modern?

2 Discovery 1 seats have a tilt system.

If you re-mount the seat belts like the later style 2 door shells (same as the CSK) which anchors on the rear of the sill rather than the seat base, then it opens up more options. Plenty of two door cars out there :)

Mercedes R107 great quality leather, W123 Coupe, W115 Coupe (no headrests). The spring bases in MB seats are incredibly comfy too, once they're in good nick (expensive to replace).

Your RR seats aren't exactly small though, something bigger that would meet the other requirements might be difficult to find. Aside from the MB options you could look at Americana.

if you move the seatbelt then you have a lot of options. I happen to have a friend who has 2 Suzuki Swift GLS seats laying around! picked them up for 25 euros!:D they are realy nice and the grey matches the gray at the back seat! also more suporting wen offroading becouse of the sidewalls. there are a lot of Swift GLS's out there so finding a cheap pare of seats seems possible to me.

I think your project is a great idea. I'm 5 years older than you & have considered the same idea, but with a preference for auto as well as having to pay someone to do all the work, the idea was a total non-starter. I wish you well with the task

G&T project is moving along my list of stuff is growing but we are on track hopefully by April to be on the road. Spec is super high at the mo but I want it as an every day driver but to feel tight, fast, capable and modern. Once I've done this one I had an interesting chat with a co that makes high end carbon panels MK two may just reduce its kerb weight by 100kg + It may also end up being Phoenix Orange! (depending on how brave I'm feeling)

Seat update choice is Jaguar XK items super supportive, comfy and electric! Just negotiating a set

Hi yes i have been thinking about the same thing if you are going to recover them you can add bolster to them and change the foam structure by getting your upholster to show you how he adds foam to the seat

i am having heated seats but using the seat base of the heating elements on the back for my shoulders and one for the seat

There are two types of heated seats one that is just a electric coil of the one i am going for is the far inferred heated you get these on the recliners you have at home to sit in they are much better for you

if you wanted a good seat look at the disco 1 3door you will have to think about seatbelts or the Mercedes 300 coupe with built in seat belts

hope this has helped i am sure there will be better wiser heads than me out there good look
