oneandtwo
I have a rear interior light in 300tdi 90 county. It's never been wired up as missing the original loom, is it okay to take the live feed for the rear light from the front interior light or would I risk overloading the relatively thin wiring that runs up the windscreen pillar? Both lights are the standard grey factory lights with 10w (i think) bulbs. Would like to put the headlinging back in ASAP but holding off doing it as want to actually see in the back in the dark! Thanks.
western
see page 45.4 interior lights rear one is in the dashed line box http://www.legionlandrover.com/manuales/electrical%20schemes%20-%20defender%20300%20tdi.pdf looks to me like it feeds from the purple wire from front interior light. on another note -- any news on the 110 headliner you have up in the sales section, I did PM you about it recently. ?? oneandtwo
Yes, it is fed from the front light. Although it is a county spec 300tdi 90 the wiring burnt out so I replaced it with a non county spec wiring loom - is only equipped for front light not rear, not sure if the wiring guage needs to be bigger as front will be feeding rear also. Headliner, this weekend? I can drop it to you on Friday afternoon if you want as am going up to exeter?

eds
I think that will be fine especially if you put in led bulbs in then you would guarantee it is fine.
cackshifter
The bulbs are supposed to be 5w, (and led would even less); so 2 is less than an amp. I think you'd struggle to damage the wiring.
