timing belt replacement

hi I have just replaced the timing belt on my freelander 1.8lt engine .I marked the cam shaft spockets left hand and right hand BUT did not mark the position of the roll pin on the cam shaft Alas I cannot get the timing correct Can anyone advise me on the position of the roll pin on camshaft, as to the sprocket. EG on the rear of the left hand sprocket there is IN on one slota nd EX on other slot Any clues?
