Agricam
We have a discovery 4 on 19" rims which currently have Goodyear AR Wranglers Duratec 255/55/R19's on it. Driving some proper off roading the other weekend we had a puncture and have noticed damage on the side wall on another tyre. (This will be the 4th tyre to either be scrapped or repaired in the space of about 4 months). We have lost all faith in these tyres. We have used BFG mud terrains before but they don't do this size.Does anyone know a really good tyre with strong side walls that would do hard terrain that we undertake We have been looking around and found a Atturo Trail Blade M/T Tyre but we don't have any reviews or knowledge of these tyres. Thanks
BogMonster
I think the pretend off-road version (G4 or whatever they call it now) uses a Goodyear Wrangler MTR 255/55R19. There is also this size in the General Grabber AT if you want an all-terrain. But to be honest you can take the side out of anything in the wrong conditions. The reality is that no real off-road vehicles use /55 section low profile tyres, so the choice is fairly limited. It's been sacrificed in favour of going round corners on road. missingsid
Interesting, the Disco3 forum members were quenig up for Duratecs and swear by them (not at them!). One option is to buy a second set of smaller diameter wheels to give you more choice? Marc.
BogMonster
Do the 17" rims fit the D4 or did they make the brakes bigger? I don't think you can buy a D4 with anything smaller than 19in wheels on now. There is/was a decent Cooper STT MT available in the 17" size (245/70R17 I think)
missingsid
Argh of course they may have the D3 V8 sized discs or bigger on D4 sorry!
