Mike, did you mean...

18th-19th June - Seven Sisters, Wales

The basics:

  • Miles and miles of off-roading of all forms, form gentle freelander-friendly tracks & trails to horrible mud bugs, rocks, deep water, THE WATERFALL, etc.
  • A fun punch-hunt to keep you entertained
  • Camping at the excellent Dan Yr Ogof Showcaves campsite (good facilities, HOT showers, excellent pub over the road, hot & cold running spanners on site, full electric & water hookups for caravanists)
  • Just about the biggest & bestest off-road site in the UK for all vehicles & abilities
  • Families & dogs welcome
  • The usual friendly Shire LRC marshals & team on hand (and I'll be there too)
  • On-site catering this year, so there will be hot food as well as teas & coffees
  • For each Summer Sisters ticket sold, £5 will go to the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.

Full details & online booking at www.7Sisters.co.uk

PLEASE READ:

  • If you are camping, please book through ShireLRC, don't just turn up at the campsite (they reserve a separate area for the event and booking separately confuses everyone)
  • We cannot accept people turning up "on the day" without a booking, either for the arena or for the campsite.
  • We always get enquiries about quads/bikes etc. so here's the rules: Any 4-wheeled vehicle which is MOT'd and insured is welcome, anything else is not, this includes non-road legal quads and ANY bike.
  • Closing date for bookings is the Friday before the event

Some flavour from previous events:

...something like that? ^_^

For 2016 we are allowing non-road-legal vehicles to attend our Seven Sisters events, subject to the rules below. If you have any doubts or questions about bringing your vehicle please contact us well in advance and we will be able to advise.

If your vehicle is a road legal 4x4:

If your vehicle is a 4x4 which has a valid MOT and insurance, as well as seats & seat belts for ALL occupants (regardless of MOT requirement) then you are welcome to attend.

If your vehicle is a non-road-legal 4x4:

Non-road-registered 4x4's must meet the following criteria:

The vehicle must have a FULL MSA, ARC, or Ultra-4 approved roll cage

The vehicle must have secure seats & belts for all occupants

Vehicles must be able to demonstrate:

Working brakes including parking brake

Working steering

Safe and secure fuel tank, battery and exhaust.

Vehicles attending the night-time event must have front & rear lights

We STRONGLY RECOMMEND you insure your truck with 3rd party cover failure to do so could result in you being sued.

We will NOT allow "bangers on trailers" or other unsafe vehicles to participate - please DO NOT try to attend if you are in any doubt without having contacted the club in advance, the Shire Land Rover Club reserves the right to deny entry to ANY vehicle that the marshals feel is unsafe, without refund.

Any other vehicles:

The Shire Land Rover Club cannot admit motorbikes, trikes, quads, or vehicles over 5 tonnes.

Light off-road 4x4 and 6x6 trucks such as Pinzgauer, Unimog and Volvo are welcome subject to meeting the standard club rules above.

If you have any doubts or questions about bringing your vehicle please contact us well in advance and we will be able to advise.

Newcomers

The Shire Land Rover Club aims to run off-road events suitable for all vehicles from shiny family runabouts to the hardcore challenge trucks, there is usually something for all vehicles & abilities to have a go at. However, conditions can vary so if you are new to the scene please get in touch and just ask!

Newcomers are always welcomed, please introduce yourself to a marshal or member of the committee (anyone wearing a hi-viz at an event should be able to help you) if you are new & would like any help, advice, or information - we would much rather you ask than keep quiet & end up stuck!

We don't provide midgets although anything's possible for a supplemental charge... midges I've never really noticed a big problem on site.

And yes, catering means tea & coffee on tap for a donation to Hampshire & Isle Of Wight Air Ambulance.

Just make sure you wait for the water to warm up unlike I did the other year

  • 1 month later...

I'm absolutely gutted I'm going to misst this, always wanted to go there but I have booked a weekend away the week before and I'm not sure the 110 will be in any state to go out again. Is it an annual thing or is there events a few times a year?

We do it twice a year, this year it's June 18th and 19th and then September 17th 18th. September one will include night driving on the Saturday again as it was such a laugh last time. Booking for that should go live shortly after everyone gets home from the June one, I'll make sure it's posted up here too.
