whippet
Hi looks like the slave has failed in my 02 freelancer td4 THE question is... is it essential to fit a new flywheel (money a bit tight) and is it as difficult as it sounds to drop the box and fit new clutch ect
Les Henson
If only the slave has failed, then I see no need to replace the clutch unless you want to do it just because the gearbox is off. Les.

Les Henson
You have what is known as a concentric clutch - in that the thrust bearing and slave are one unit. These usually fail and leak into the bell housing, so leak onto the ground/master cylinder level dropping, are the usual signs. Book time on replacing the clutch is 7.3 hours, so expect twice that if you DIY it Les
L19MUD
It is not a fun job Transfer box and whole front subframe have to come off First one I did took me two days. Could probably do in 10 hours now I have done one. Not for the faint hearted!
