Bantown205
Hi i have 04 freelander td4 that got harder and harder to start and in ended up stopped starting.WE got it running and did normal leak off test ,leak off within spec, checked low pressure feed pump ,pressure within spec.Got high pressure pump checked and was down on mid range output ,got it recon and refitted and still the same .Jeep will start and run for hours on tick over but bring to 1100 rpm and it will stop like you turned of the key ,but will restart straight away .When it stops it logs a camshaft position sensor fault ,tried one from perfect jeep but still the same.Could anybody please help what to do next thanks again. Bowie69
Jeep parts are unlikely to work on a Land Rover.
Ally V8
The camshaft position sensor is only used for synching crank to cam on starting,it can be disconnected when the engine is running. So you could try this to see if the engine will then rev up. I think to fix this fault you will need to monitor the crank and cam sensors,(With a scope) and also the voltage output from the common rail pressure sensor.See what is lost when it dies...
