KEITHB252
I recently got my local garage to remove propshafts, vcu etc from my 2001 Freelander GS so i now have a 2 wd vehicle.I thought i would do the right thing and inform my insurance company,Swinton. They immediately cancelled my insurance.I have had a quote upto £600,last year i paid £222 fully comp.I have had a clean licence for 55 years, full NCD and no accidents. Some company's will not touch it as it has been "modified". Has anyone had the same problem and do you know of an insurance company who will insure. Thanks.
toastkid
Wouldn't it just be better to put the prop back?
FridgeFreezer
Adrian flux might be worth a call. But £250 gets you a recon VCU and a better driving freelander with longer lived engine mounts.
LLR
Hi im new here, had a similar prob with my insurers, there underwriters wasnt sure what modification it came under and said they would decline my policy, that was until i did some research on other sites and then informed them and then they accepted it at no other charge, Happy days...
