spike47
Hi My Freelander is making a strange noise a light winding screaching sound ( difficult to describe not a metalic sound )when I turn around a corner , it seems to be coming from the underside middle to the rear , not from the front so I have disscounted anything to do with the steering or front drive joints etc , has anyone got any idea as to what it could be , I was thinking about that joint in the middle of prop shaft near the support bearing is that some sort of compensator ! . cheers spike
FridgeFreezer
That's the VCU (Viscous Coupling Unit), searching back through this forum will turn up everything you ever wanted to know. Could be noisy support bearings, the VCU itself doesn't really make noise.
