haydncook
I'm using two 2.5 NA diesels plus LT77 gearboxes for a boat project. I don't need transfer boxes, so is there a 'closure plate' or similar available (where the transfer box would otherwise go) (and do I need an extra bearing for the drive shaft?)? I'd be grateful for advice, Haydn Cook, Chester
landroversforever
Might be worth looking for a 2wd version of the box then.
vulcan bomber
as above, a gearbox from something like the Rover SD1 is what you need.
reb78
I wonder if you need a plate? It's still sealed isn't it?
vulcan bomber
I wonder if you need a plate? It's still sealed isn't it? Yes, but theres no bearing to support the rear prop shaft.
landroversforever
Sealed yes, but the output shaft relies on the input gear bearings so it would need some kind of support.
