Scotian
Hi people. Just thought I would share with you me and my girlfriends weekend away. We went to a Town in the West of Romania called Petrosani (Google maps it if you dont know). We went there to meet a friend from another forum (4x4mania.ro) and we had a great time. There was too much snow above 1000 meters so we couldnt really go off road so we headed down the valley closer to the town on Petrosani where we found plenty of mud and had lots of fun. The next day we were going to take the already closed road out to the east and back down south home. But over night it dumped about half a meter of snow We were not sure if we could cross the pass and it got really hard (even with snow chains) at about 1600 meters but we got thorough much to the amazment of the next village cafe who were not expecting any business for a day or two When we left as we dropped below 1000 meters there was no snow atall and was all plain saling going home. Here's some pics
Scotian
Here are the rest of the pics that wouldnt fit. The little Samurai that was falling over backwards is my mate who I met from the forum. Its a little bundle of fun but needs a Landrover to pull it around :-P You can see the start of the pics before the snow (there is some ground visable) That Lodge we stayed at is at 1200 meters. Then you can see after the snow came
protoprincess
Looks like you all had a great time. Our Hungarian friends (LRFun & Thoosh) regularly visit Romania for off roading weekends and comps - living close to Szeged it is so much easier. Keep asking us to hop over with them to Romania for a weekend - sooo tempting , as they are going to race in Ladoga again this year we shall discuss stuff......
