o_teunico
Hi all, I was wondering if any of you has ever made your own pillar drill, lathe, press...out of junk/scrap. It will be cool to see your inventions...and maybe copy them! Here just some examples I´ve found on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qgLx2dsnM48

elbekko
You should take a look through this thread, aside from building a pretty cool vehicle this guy has bought/modified/built every tool under the sun: http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/expedition-vehicles/1039534-mini-h-gglund.html
LiamC
This is our homemade power hacksaw. (Sorry this is the only pic I could find). It uses an old washing machine motor and Its quite slow but it will just plod on and allow you to get on with something else in the mean time. It is on here somewhere.... EDITED to add - found it here; Homebrew Milling Machine I still have it in the garage if anyone wants to make me an offer! Superpants
I regularly keep an eye on http://woodgears.ca/ which has some pretty impressive wooden wood working tools amongst it's projects. His marble machines are also spectacular!
ejparrott
I'm toying with the idea of building a small vertical borer...... I think a Boxford lathe like mine stood on end, with a new thrust bearing to take the load...... keep thingking....

Other than floor space theres nothing to be gained by having a small vertical borer other than the novalty factor...
ejparrott
Nah, many many jobs are better done on a borer than in a lathe...I should know, its my job!

I forgot the Schiess, twin table jobbie, probably about the same size as yours We make epicyclic gears, big ones, upto about 40T, fixed input/output ratio's, so turn lots of rings to cut teeth on.
