neonovice
Hello, I have a problem with a 2003 TD5 110. It conked out on Saturday and now wont start. It turns over OK but wont fire. Having plugged it into a hawkeye I got back a fault at the crank sensor. I replaced it but it still won't start. The pump seems to be working OK (it was replaced about a month ago), I can hear it buzzing and there is fuel coming out the pipes. The ECU looks clean (no oil), and the immobiliser is switched off. Any ideas? Thanks.
landy andy.
Have you tested the crank sensor with a meter whilst spinning the engine? Was old sensor damaged at all? Did it have a spacer? Have you checked the wires to it? Andy
neonovice
I tested idle speed (which measured a negative figure) it did effect the reading when I cranked it, is that the right test? The old sensor looked fine, there was no spacer and the wires to it are intact.
neonovice
Put it into a local LR specialist. New pump. Only fitted one 6 weeks ago. It was a cheap one - will go for genuine this time I think....
neonovice
Put a new pump in and fired up. Now it isn't running right. Sounds like not all cylinders are firing, no fault codes though....
