gazelle
Several years ago I fitted simonb's intermittent rear wiper modification, which is fantastic and works a treat. I have left it until now to start to implement the optional wipe while washing function, This involves running a wire from the remaining connector on the new relay and attaching the other end of the wire to the back of the washer switch. Some research tells me it is the black/green cable I need to connect to, but how should I do this? (2002 model TD5 90) The wire has been run to the back of the switch but there is no obvious way of making the connection without cutting into the wiring. What are my options? gazelle
The questions really are: Can it be done without cutting the original wiring? To cut or not to cut? What connectors to use? What connectors not to use? Cheers Martin
Bowie69
I'd just cut it and use an inline crimp.
gazelle
Something like this? With two wires in one end and one in the other?
simonb
Yes, that will work.
gazelle
Cheers both. Now just need to find time to go and get them. Fantastic upgrade Simon, I now sometimes forget to turn it off. Martin
gazelle
Just fitted the VW99 relay to the front, and it really is a 5 min job - getting the original relay out of its holder was by far the most difficult part of the job.
