I have r380 box serial no, 56a0432760j, that I am considering fitting, is this the stumpy version, or do I need the bell house conversion from ashcrofts, Any response would be gratefully accepted. Diesel_90 Posted July 28, 2014 Share Posted July 28, 2014 A 56a is a defender r380. You can buy a kit from ashcroft to convert it into a "stumpy R380/Short R380". I am currently in the process of sorting the bits to mine and from looking into it ideally you would be better off with a "K" or "L" R380 as these are the better units.
