ajh
Is there any reason not to swap late-model axles to an older (200TDI) 110? Any reasonable sources? Shipping will of course be expensive either way.
muddy
Don't forget you'll require a longer propshaft.
CwazyWabbit
Aren't the Puma rear axles weaker? More specifically the diffs, I'm sure I read somewhere about a number failing. What's your motivation for the swap?
Happyoldgit
Puma front diffs were all two pin up to around 2011 after which four pins are fitted. You'll want to source parts from a reputable source, far too many Defenders go missing or have bits pinched from them by the light fingered brigade. muddy
Are you saying all post 2011 pumas have a long nose 4pin up front? Will
ajh
I'm a long way from being able to even see one up close. Basically I was after the internals, swivels etc. If someone was willing to pull just the parts I need that would be good. Any chance they have the steering arm on both swivel housings as the D2s etc do? I'm still on the bushing style of swivel and I think the swivels I got were poorly made. I get a lot of unexplained movement that can't be attributed to bearing preload etc so was just figuring that if I was going to update things it might be easier to just get complete units and ship those.
