miketomcat
The bolton bits set of lights and relay works fine with a trailer though you do need to adjust the relay after first fitting and when you first connect a trailer. After that no problems till it shows all your bad earths up (ours doesn't have a buzzer but the dash light works fine.) Mike
AndrewHorsfield
I think you can buy a flasher relay for LED lights? I think Paddocks had them when I investigated it before. This might mean switching all indicators to LED.
miketomcat
This might mean switching all indicators to LED.I'm fairly sure the bolton bits relay is adjustable to allow for some lights led and some not. My side repeaters are still bulbs.Mike
Happyoldgit
I have recently transferred the RDX LED indicator, side and stop lamps from my 2010 Puma to my new one, the side repeaters remain as per standard. The adjustment on the LED flasher from Bolton Bits is to set the correct level so that the trailer tell tale lamp in the vehicle fitted with LED indicators flashes when a trailer is connected and not flash when there is no trailer present - just as the tell tale would if you had a standard flasher and bulbs. AndrewHorsfield
Thanks. Worth knowing as more LED bulbs are on the wish list
western
Thanks. Worth knowing as more LED bulbs are on the wish list not strictly legal to fit led into lights made for normal bulbs, better to swap the complete unit for 'E' marked sealed led lights. supaimpy
not strictly legal to fit led into lights made for normal bulbs, better to swap the complete unit for 'E' marked sealed led lights. why not? I know HID headlamp conversions arn't legal but never heard about LED bulbs
western
because the lens is not designed to give the correct spread of light with led internals, but doubt ant MOT or Police would know.
Simon Smith
Sealed LED units are 100 times better than using LED bulbs in the standard lights anyway, changed mine from LED bulbs to the Bolt on Bits lamps after being advised that mine weren't strictly legal. Wish I had done it to start with as they are just so much better.
