Testing Wiper Motor

Recommended Posts

I would like to test the sweep/operation of my wipers before i close all the dash in.

James (Retroanaconda) suggested checking with a battery and a couple of leads to the wiper motor connector. This is a good idea. My only problem being i cannot get my RAVE diagrams to load.

Pin1 appears to be black, so thats the negative, but could someone please tell me the other pin to take the positive to? Id rather do it without damaging something or creating big shower of sparks...

Love this forum, need to use it more. I turned on my wipers but did not notice the windscreen ice, blades frozen to glass. Blue 10a fuse (x2).  What is bad: motor, relay, lever/switch?  This section of the post concerns me.  MOT/ITV (Spain) coming up soon. Appreciate the help.

remove the arms & wipers, remove the motor & drive cable, clean all the old grease off the cable, lightly regrease with wheel bearing grease, check the drive spindlres can be turned easily by hand, if Ok, the refit drive cable & motor, reconnect electrics, check the motor runs easily then refit the arms & blades. hopefully that should give you a good set of wipers.
