AHughes
Bonjour all, so rather than stump up £150 for some "acoustic" matting and then £110 for some pre-made sides I decided for the sake of £15 in ply and £10 in carpet, £5 glue and some industrial underlay I would do my own! Thus, I measured up (will put measurements up tonight) and got to work. I lined the sides and flooring in very thick, non-absorbent underlay for industrial work flooring (very good acoustic properties) and adhered using 3M tape usually used to stick up vinyl to walls. Cut a couple of notches out of the rear end of the side panel so that I could slide it up under the headlining at seatbelt end and then pull it back towards the rear 3 quarter window and it sits in position, marked up a hole so I could use the seatbelt hanger as the ONLY fixing (did not want lots of self tappers destroying my hard earned watertight cabin!). Used spray adhesive to stick on the carpet (the hardest part!!!) and done! Got too dark to take finished pictures but I think they look and indeed fit every bit as well as the far more expensive ones! Oh, and yes...its miles quieter and indeed warmer!! Ply lining of floor and rear door next! cheers Andy

Frax
I did the same with my one a while back but put 25mm king Span behind the ply, made a big difference.

Maverik
Aye good job man, a bit of inspiration, I really don't like the prices of some of these plastic aftermarket jobbies...
Retroanaconda
I had a similar setup for some time, worked very well and a marked improvement on the bare metal panels. In the end I put the proper Land Rover trims in and modified them to work with solid panels as I like the standard look
