o_teunico
Hi all, I have ignored one of the Land Rover owner´s rule "If your Landy stops leaking, you should check the oil level". As a result, one of the front UJ is seized. I would like to ift AEU2522 CVs instead of the the UJs, but for that I need some 10/23 halfshafts, as used in the Stage One V8. Is out there somewhere to buy cheapo replacements? I have been able to locate some NOS, but priced as gold!
Soren Frimodt
not really sadly, HeyStee in Netherlands makes some, but these are not cheap either. By far the cheapest and easiest solution is to keep running u-joints
Gazzar
There was a motorsport engineering works that would make them up for not mad money discussed a while back - I did bookmark it, but the link is gone. I'll do some digging.
Gazzar
Here it is: http://berrisford.co.uk http://berrisford.co.uk and here's the thread: http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=84930&page=
missingsid
KAM made a set of RRC shafts that they will cut down to Stage 1 size for you. Problem is that you cannot order them through the supplier you need to get the mobile number from the old website. I have a set in my hybrid Series/RRC axles. o_teunico
Thanks for the info. Today I have taken out both front halfshafts. If I keep UJs I will need to change the left shaft, not just the UJ
o_teunico
Here a crazy idea...what if a standard coiler shaft is shortned and resplined to suit the 10 spline series diff? Is heat treatment really a must?
Soren Frimodt
that could be done, factory LR shafts are not heat treated, only the pattern crappy ones. There is quite a bit of involved though, as you'll have to make race for the bearing in axle housing that fits over the rrc shaft, and clearance for the CV in swivel, etc etc
o_teunico
I will talk to local machining shop to see how much they want for making the job.
Meph373
I have a set of CV Shafts. They're brand new. I'll certainly sell them for less than the 280 Pounds that that Rovers North sells them for.
firemanshort
Do you have Stage One axles / CVs? Where are you located? I could be interested.
