Jasra
Following on from my Total Loss post on the International Forum, I am looking for a replacement Defender 90 Td5 County, 2000 to 2006. However I am puzzled over the vehicles being advertised on Autotrader as County models. Some have no bulkhead between fwd seats and the aft cabin and some have a bulkhead showing in the ads. Are the latter vehicles van conversions as I thought factory County specs had no bulkhead? Greatful for the definitive decision on this. Thank you. western
County is only a TRIM option, it has no bearing on the centre bulkhead fitted or not, so you can have a 90 hardtop with a 'county' trim pack or a county station wagon, the station wagon usually don't have the bulkhead behind the front seats. Jasra
Many thanks for your clarification, that certainly answers the question for me
Tanuki
The official 90 County station-wagons have no bulkheaad, and 2 inward-facing fold-down seats (with seatbelts) each side in the back. This seat-arrangement fell foul of some obscure EU law in the mid-2000s so was then discontinued on UK/EU-market vehicles. The exact extent of "County" trim-level varied depending on market: my 2001 one came with central-locking, electric-windows, alarm/immobiliser and "Techno" fabric seats [with headrests for driver/passenger] but - thankfully - no sunroof [they leak..]
Anderzander
I had a county HT and it had techno, a sun roof, alpine Windows, and a radio - but everything else was basic spec.
