What do you want to use it for?
As ever, get the biggest (decent quality) one you can afford.

I was once tempted by a sub £100 2hp 30 litre. No good for air ratchet, air sander etc. Worth knowing that a description of 7cu ft per minute does not necessarily mean for a whole minute!
If you are near a Costco they had a good deal on 3 hp 100 litre at just over £200. (If my memory serves me!)

Come at it from the other way.
Decide what tools you want to use then find out what their air consumption is.
Then look for a compressor that has the free air delivery and tank size to cope.
Air sanders/polishers use a LOT of air. I do SMART repairs professionally & use an electric DA sander and polisher!
