Full Version: Bending a panhard rod

I have had to alter my panhard rod to clear a few clashes with various bits. I heated the existing bends up to cherry red and straightened the rod (solid bars, seems to be hight tensile). I did the same for the new bends but over bent one bend. I heated up to adjust and the bend cracked 3/4 of the way through. I welded it up and it has lasted 2 x 1/2 comps. With my luck, the thing will snap at some point.

What I need to know is, will it snap, if I replace it, what should I use bearing in mind it will have to be custom made by me. The modified arm was a SR extreme one with adjustable rose joint. (Please no snide remarks about SR, it was fine until I modified it).
