The next SCOR trial is this coming Sunday 27th April at a new venue on the tip of Portland Bill (near Weymouth) which Lee reckons will be a great location tongue.gif RTV and modified vehicles I assume.
New members can join on the day so come on down! All 4X4s - not just Land Rovers

Anyone else going?
Simon

(front & rear tow points & few items needed -see this prior thread: http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=23615

Oh dear sounds painful!
Would be a nice coastal drive for you....

The SCOR events I've done so far have been great - a little more challenging than Hants & Berks but a very laid-back atmosphere

I wonder where they're holding the event....

i know that area very well, the southern tip is a cliff face into the channel!! blink.gif blink.gif

maybe they're using one of the quarries near the Vern prison. there's quite a few there, nice and derelict. it's like a set from an old Dr Who episode!

It was indeed a massive quarry near the prison

It was indeed a massive quarry near the prison - and a wierd sea mist covered the site most of the day, clearing for a few minutes to reveal the stunning drops into the sea.... Great day out with some challenging terrain. though we could do with a few more competitors

Strange scenery

modified triallers too

Grand Canyon?

Hotrod,

I am keen to have a go at trialing, mentioned this last month when the brickkiln site was mentioned, but was unable to attend due to MOT expiry etc.

When and where is the next one?
Portland seemed a bit far to be fair, for a first time out.
Also what are costs, requirements etc?

Hello Mr Finger...
Next SCOR trial is back at Brick Kiln Farm near Four Marks (near Alton) on 25th May - SCOR run pretty much one a month around the southern area (check out www.scor4x4.co.uk for calendar). Can arrive & join club & drive.
Hants & Berks LRC is the other regular trial organiser in our area (if your L/R is basically standard)

Not much required for trialling - front & rear tow points + tow rope, fire extinguisher, carb return spring that's about it

Not sure what you drive but Series Landrovers often make fools of big rubber coilers - down to the driver!

SCOR charge £20 entry. You don't use much gas as there's not many miles covered and if you take it easy shouldn't break anything much in road-going class trails (RTV)

If driving round & round at 'Play Days' is getting boring, try trials for a friendly day out and challenge yourself a little (without major damage risk)

Hotrod,

Its a mechanically standard 3.9 Auto rebodied RRC, full length chassis, just a hybrid body swap.

Sounds ideal - with a longer wheelbase you get to nominate a 'shunt' to help you round. I've known many people trial with V8 autos with good success. Only thing you might find is your rear overhang catching? Give it a try
