http://j33p.org/_club/events2.cfm?eventLoads of you have been before, you know the score (wow poetry!)
The BBQ is a hoot as well as a good chowdown.
SS's with punches as a non competetive but hairy chested sidline to the big picture which is having fun off road.
This will be the 10th event at 7S thatI have been Chief Marshal - I may get it right soon. The usual team will be there but I am shy of three marshalling crews so PM me if you are up for it
Camping is most likley at Dan Yr Ogof and Tangoman will be along to act as midge decoy.

You have me down I hope!
Going to need to borrow a jerry can and get a mortgage to get there but that's ok by me.
What type of event is it? In other words Insas or ATs? I'm going to try bloody hard to get my MTs, don't like the idea of going up on the Insas..

Baah,
Bluddy sister in law has decided to get married that weekend. Not a hope of getting a pass out.

Oh well, I shall just have to drown my sorrows in Guiness!

You can get away with both types of tyres there. Last time I went I was on MT's, hopefully this time I can get a trailler, in which case I'll be wearing the Simex. I certainly wouldn't drive there on Simex, I like my ears to much and I want to stay married. Well for a bit longer at least..

AT's will do 90% of the site, as the shale / rock gives good grip.

Myself and a few mates from Belgium are planning to attend some more international events. We have a good deal of offroad experience, but little or none involving competion/SS.
Would you recommend this as a starter event?
And if so, are there still places available?

Beat me to it Tim!
Flip,
As Tim said this event is what you want to make of it. We always have extra marshals who are happy to guide you round the site, advise or coach, act as recovery. J33P is an excellent club that despite it's name is not just for Jeepers, they have a great sense of cameraderie and the BBQ's are excellent.

To echo what HH says the BBQ is excellent. If that's not to your fancy there is a nice pub within walking distance which serves lovely food and some nice beer ontap. What more do you want for a weekend away. Offroading, good food and good beer. And of course good company

I've been all the way from Kent on Insa Special Tracks - twice!! It's not too bad. In the Range Rover I had a loud stereo - this time, I'm relying on the 200TDi to drown out the tyre noise!!
All signed and paid up. Just got to get to the bottom of my oil disposal problems!! And waterproof the tent - it is Wales after all!!

I'll take your special tracks and you can borrow my Macho's if you want
ThreePointFive
Jun 4 2008, 04:02 PM
That would work out well, I could see what the machos are like, but are you sure you can tolerate the racket they make? I am definetly up for that though. I am also trying to avoid wearing out the STs as I'm trying to sell them, I don't know how much they wear on road though.
Right all packed up and ready to for the off to get up there and help setup this afternoon - i see rain is forecast for the weekend - typical Welsh weather really!

Failed drop arm ball joint. The steady limp home lasted about 10 miles then a flat back taxi to Matt's at WSM for a fix, then on home.
The weather surpassed itself, almost constant rain form Friday night to 07.00 this morning - then after a rest it started raining again!

Under the direction of Mr Trembath I expect.

The plan was to park the trailer close to the bank and then just drive over the bank as my other 1/2 isn't to keen to get involved with loading the truck on

. Didn't go to plan as the handbrake on the tow truck wasn't on as tight as it could be

. So ended up doing a conventional load in the end with another veh crew. But thank you for pointing this out

.

A great weekend despite the weather. Will post pics when I've sorted through them.
Looks like you all had a great time

Loving the pictures.
Next year....
Had a great weekend, a huge Thank you must go to all the Marshalls for helping out with setting and clearing the course, and the support for the two days in recovery and fixing vehicles; very much appreciated by myself, Angela and Mike.
An excellent event laid on by Mike and Angela from J33P - well done guys, its certainly worth the effort and greatly appreciated.
It was good to catch up with everyone and the venue and general atmosphere of the event certainly make it a superb social weekend. A big up for Jum Pugh for not only supply the Steaks for the Bar B Q but cooking them as well - cheers Mate. Chris and Tim - thank you for helping with all the logistics on fri and late Sun, greatly appreciated.
Sam - hope you enjoyed your trundle around with us on Sun.
A few pictures to start.
