I've been at the search engine again...........

Many a moon ago (October '06) a thread was started on fitting twin Kenlows in front of radiator :"Extra Engine Cooling Pt 1 - Fans and vents, (Nuffin amazing but might help others ?)"

Sorry, I haven't figured out links yet. Probably never will............

Looks good. I have the same fans as part of a 'V8 package deal' and would like to do similar. They're currently rigged to suck but it clutters the engine bay and looks naff.

Question. To fit the fans the two cross braces have to go? Without them there doesn't seem to be much supporting the bonnet catch (and my fat belly when I lean over). Has anybody had problems with this?

Cheers

If you mean http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopi...+Engine+Cooling then thats mine !

Yep the supports have to go, and you are to a degree replacing some of the strength with the new steel angleiron frame.

I have had no probs since doing this mod, inc Jon W climbing around on my bonnet at the 1st Howlin Wolf event sad.gif

If yours is a V8, then use the fans and steel shroud (all one unit) from a Scorpio .......... about £15 from the scrappy. This unit fits perfectly behind the V8 Rad and slots nicly into the original bottom fixings..............

Thanks for the replies.

My 2.5 runs a Mondeo fan but I have the kenlows so I'm going to use them. I was thinking of putting in a frame then cutting the cross braces and welding to the top. Should be as strong as standard?

Just for a bit of background picture a 2.5 with fan shroud removed, big gap isn't there? Big enough to get in? Now picture some fool who should know better standing on the bumper with a pot of tipex in hand to highlight the timing marks on the pulley. It was a wet day. My trainers were slippy. You have to lean over.........................
