Last year I did ride my Harley in Morocco and fel in love with this country. Decided to come back on my LR Def 90. To wider horizons/
Diesel there... Do I need additives?
Any other advises and help apritiated!

It depends on what engine your 90 has.

From experience 300tdi and earlier are fine on Moroccan diesel (Though aditives wont hurt)
later engine td5 - puma will probably benefit and smoke less with additives.

our 300Tdi ran OK in Morocco, but I reckon a decent splash of Millers or Redex can't do any harm...

I was there back in 2002 and found that the sulphur content diesel went up the further south you go. Didn't do any apparent harm to the 300Tdi 90 I was in.....which is still running around now

There is a section in the vehicle handbook that covers funny fuel as far as I remember.

My Def is 2007 TDCi (Ford Transit powered )

In the manual it says "DIESEL EN 590"
So I checked whats that EN 590 means and Here we are
- Sulphur content - upper limit: 350 (until 2004-12-31) or 50,0
- Cetane number 51,0
- Cetane index 46,0
I have my doubts that I'll get this quality fuel down there... Means - additives!

No need to worry about fuel. Diesel 350 ("Gasoil 350" as it is called there) is readily available. Just look for large and modern fuel pumps around cities.
For example: http://www.total.ma/os/osmorocco.nsf/VS_OP...9B?OpenDocument sells gasoil 350 and there's a map with the fuel stations as well.
Many other fuel networks available, google for more.

Forget about additives. You don't need them if you'll get Diesel 350 and the additive needed to use what they sell there as normal diesel doesn't exist.

Thanks a lot guys! I continue to plan my trip to Morocco. Meanwhile before Africa I'll drive from my place (St-Petersburg, Russia) to Bashkortostan , Russia in the end of November. Is anybody intrested to join?
