Ok now i have searched the forum on this matter and did not find the answer i was after.
So i currently have a small manually loading grease gun that does the job fine but the new water proof grease that i have found is a pain in the booty to load into the dam thing.
So i,m after a good quality grease gun that preferbly takes a cartridge (for ease and cleanliness) providing that i can get my paws on a good water proof grease that is suitable for both wheel bearings and propshafts.
have spotted
this and
this one so far.
so what are your opions please guys?
And more importantly is the grease i dont want to be putting any old cra% in cause its easy and in a cartridge,if i have to bulk fill i will.
thanks in advance forumers
Dougie.

works just fine

i have a one handed one like the Silverline one on Ebay (but better quality) and i would never go back to the 2 handed one again. Trouble is I have to use a flexi hose to get to the nipples on most of the farm machines and you end up needing 3 hands otherwise. If you have a 2 hander then you really need to use a rigid pipe and that limits your apps... I also get the cartridges from the farm supplies. Last lot were 99p each if bought in a 10 pack!
BTW Silverline seem to be pretty good for a budget range and have a pretty good guarantee.

Best grease i've used is JCB blue waterproof grease...
works out just over a pound a tube if you buy 12, and is far superior to the cheap brown stuff.

that sounds what i,m after to be honest this stuff i,m using is suppose to be sh1t hot and is blue and water proof marine stuff but in a cartridge / tube would be better for my new none messy gun (when i choose one that is)
Where do you order from off the net or local supplier?
Let me know please and i'll get some ordered asap.

Brilliant stuff , I also still have the grease gun from when I had a new 3CX back in 1990 , Its the best grease gun I have ever used , never needs priming and works a treat
JCB still do their own grease guns but they aint a patch on the early ones .

I question, having been advised by one much wiser, whether waterproof grease is what you want for wheel bearings or propshafts.
The grease won't eliminate water ingress into your hubs or prop. Better to absorb the water than leave it there in droplets to rust any exposed bits.

Exactly , If you have water migrating to your bearings , you have seal failure some where along the line .

Agreed, or condensation. So waterproof grease would be worse as the water would be free to rust away, whereas your standard grease will absorb a fair degree of water before allowing any rust to your bearings.

I use JCB blue (which I get for nothing

)
Two grease guns - the two-handed type that takes a whole catridge, and a small one-handed one that was originally supplied with S1 Land Rovers.

I have got the blue grease in the past from Holt JCB in Avonmouth , But I guess you have already tried your Local JCB dealer if you have already got the grease gun.

These are the best grease guns I have come across, had one in constant use for over 10 year's, ............ but they are not cheap, (sit down when you enquire) worth ever penny, and as user friendly as you can get.

Following on from all the talk on here I went and purchased a new gun as well. Strangely someone by your name also purcased 1. So I assumed it was you.
No need to keep an eye on me. I've got a wife that does that

All brands/types considered so long as its,
1st) good quality
2nd) easily available in a cartridge
3rd) cheapish (of course)
