after a day of gas welding my acectylene ran out is it possible to weld with propane i know people say it isnt but as i cant get a refill till monday what is the chance one told me it can be done but is more tricky because of oxidation anyone gas welr with propane

Tried it once, the weld fizzed and was like an Aero bar.

Acetylene burns much hotter than propane as is more pure,propane is ok for cutting/heating,

your weld won't be as strong

if i was you i'd wait till you get a refill

i know you are not supposed to do it but lay the bottle down you can often get another hour or two of welding out of it

ive heard that before one person said give it a good shake but ill wait till monday and will probably get the next size cylinder i think its a v and m set that ive got at the moment but will go to the next size up chris
