After 2 Years in the making it came time to kick my 2A 109 in to live after a Nissan RD28 conversion. while it fits nicely and looks good it will not start!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have an idea that it is a fuel problem. now im not sure if i simply need an electric fuel pump to aid in keeping presure to the injector pump or if its a bigger issue?
the primer pump works fine. i get fuel back from the return to the tank. however it dose lose presure...
no breaks in the line that i can see. just not enough fuel to fire it in to life.
Ive checked timing, changed injectors, injector lines, return lines the works..... still no joy.
if adding a pump to the line dosnt work ill throw the motor away and put the spare one in and see if it works????????
any help would be epreciated.........
Thankyou.

Does the injector pump have a fuel cut off switch? It should click when you turn the ignition on to indicate that it's open. Are you getting fuel to the injectors? Check by slackening the nut on the top where the injector pipe is connected to it and crank the engine. Fuel should squirt out. Some diesel engines are a right pig to start after the fuel system has been worked on. If you are able - try to tow start it.

Was the 2A originally a petrol or a diesel. The reason I ask is that the ignition key on the old diesels removes the supply to everything apart from cranking when you're in the crank position.
So when you fit a modern engine with an electric fuel shut off, all looks to be working well but when you go to crank it shuts the fuel off and it dosen't start.
Just a thought I've been there.
