this would be a good starting point Automotive Electrical and Electronic Systems Manual from Haynes, it's a good book, got one myself. & this Haynes Practical Electrical Manual

Is there a chapter on "Lucas"?

I think the Lucas chapter is in the Bible isn't it ?
