Help again!! I posted a topic a while ago about a noisy gearbag on a 110 V8. Checked then changed oil. Bugger, no different !! I believe on the`88 V8 it was an Lt85 gearbox. What else will fit? Would prefer longer ratio if poss sad.gif

LT77 or R380 would fit the V8 but I've no idea how much work it may or may not be. If the gearing is too short you may be able to swap the transfer box for a higher ratio.

lt85 was defo on 110 V8 but not all 90 IIRC for higher ratio its the transfer box ratio thats important , not really the main box

The lt85 is very strong g/box, it can suffer bearing problems though. I think it would be worth keeping the lt85 and having a go at replacing the bearings if you (or a friend) have the skills.

Somebody like aschroft will provide you with the new bearings

I've got a CSW with an LT 85 in makes a right racket in neutral, my parts man had a listen to it and said that's nothing you should hear a bad one, that'll last for thousands of miles more, he was right it has. Makes a rushing sound from the thrust bearing.
