I've got a RR handbrake lever and would like to get he light working as it has the switch on the side. How do I wire this in and is the wiring likely to already be there?
mmgemini
If your Defender already has the HB warning light fitted and working. The wire just pulls through to the new lever.
If not. Why do you, or anybody, need a light to inform you that you've left your handbrake on. ph34r.gif

Pretty sure Mr MOT-man needs to see the handbrake light working when it is applied...

I light is on the dash as its just a standard defender dash. I can't see the wires under the cubby box though.

Here's a question. When the handbrake is actuated it should hold the car when you try to drive it. So how does that work on a D3. If the handbrake is actuated and you try to drive off, it automaticaly releases.

Come with me to the Tech Archive & read this Park Brake warning light, for older 90/110 I fitted mine in October 2005 i-m_so_happy.gif you can make the logo with P in the centre work & the 'Park Brake' light too.

Which is what I have. Great for hill starts though. Even the wife would be able to manage it. If I let her drive it laugh.gif
