Has anyone used the multilayered head gasket on a 300tdi ? and is there any thing peculiar to fitting them ?

Yep fitted one about 18 months ago - just fit the same as a normal one. Genuine Parts ones are now the multilayer type.

Hi, i'm usually in the disco section. Have fitted one to my 300tdi disco about 3 months or so ago--far better than the old ones--i tightened the head down exactly as the manual and have had no probs after 1400 miles. cheers, Rocky

The multilayer one was first used in the 2.8 Brazilian motor. We still use the original OEM ones or Victor Reinz with no problems. So either will do. The trick is to torque the head properly.
