  1. Hi Looking to replace my rear door on my 300tdi. I have found a rear door off of a 2016 reg defender. Just wondering if with a little modifaction this would fit? Advise appreciated Thanks
  2. Hi I have just fitted a tereferma steeting damper to my 300tdi since the last oe damper was bent. The issue is that the steering now dosent seem to self centre anymore. The new damper is not a return to centre damper however i didnt think i needed one as i have a completly standard set up. I dont have huge wheels either. Has fitting the new damper just highlighted some wear some where in the system or have i incorrectly assumed that i dont need a return to centre damper.
  3. No i dont have an a frame. Its just bog standard on the front. That looks pretty cool tbh. Worth considering
  4. Yer im not to keen to cut the grille. I was just wondering if anyone had tried it across the top of the bumper and what it looks like and how it works. Thanks for the info
  5. Hi as winter is fast approaching i am thinking of upgrading my headlights and adding a few extra lights. i am looking at LED light bars and was wondering if anyone has ever mounted light bars along the top of the front bumper? i am aware of the roof light bars but was just thinking of adding some in the space ontop of the bumper. if it has been done i was wondering if anyone could tell me how well they work in that location and how prone are they to being damaged? Thanks in advance
  6. ok so i should look at a week for the whole job. thanks again
  7. Fatboy thats exactly the sort of info i was after thanks very much. did u just use the underseal gun to apply it to get that finish and did u do it in a booth? i want to go black so will i need to tint it or just spray it without tint? thanks again very helpful
  8. Hi My 1996 90 is starting to look a bit tired in the paint department. i dont really feel i can justify the cost of a respray as i work the old girl hard and i would feel terrible is i was to beat up a fresh, smart looking paint job. i have found a few images online of landys which have been painted with upols raptor bedliner. personally i think this looks quite good and is potentially hard wearing. however i have a few questions about using it as a top coat so if anyone has experience with this stuff, some advise and opinions would be great. firstly is there any long term effects on the body of using upol rapor? how dose the finish looks after a few years of use? will painting my landy with this stuff effect the value on my car in the long run? and finally how easy is it to get a good quality finish? Thanks in advance and sorry if this is a bit off topic
  9. Hi I regularly need to transport a large and heavy 230 super mig welder for various jobs i do. At the moment i load the welder into the back of of 90 TDI panel van using wooden pallets which rest on my tow and rear crossmember, this makes the gradient very steep. However this method requires 2 people which is not always convenient and is risky as the welder can roll back and flatten anyone who is behind it due to the weight. also if the welder falls it could damage it which could be costly. i was wondering if anyone has ever tried anything like this and if anyone knows of an easier way to load it up? i have considered making a trailer but this will cost me a fair bit of money which i dont have atm. Thanks for your time and sorry if this is a bit unrelated to the LR Q&A
  10. yes i have considered fitting the alloys, think i may try it a see what i think. thanks for the info
  11. Hi I have been looking at putting some larger tires on my 94 defender 300tdi. i am currently running the standard steel wheels and tires. I dont want to fiddle with the suspension. i just want to fill the arches out a bit with some nicer, chunkier tires. i will be mainly using it for road use with some light off road stuff. i have a set of boost alloys which i believe to have 235/85/16 on. these are band new with very few miles on them. will these fit the standard steel wheels? sorry if this subject has been asked before. Thanks
  12. Hi I need to replace my release bearing so im gonna do the clutch at the same time as it has done nearly 110K. i have been trying to find the correct size for both the friction disc and the pressure plate which i believe is 235mm for the friction disc and 242mm for the pressure plate. however when i look on euro car parts 2 clutches come up (both valeo) one has the sizes which i have just said and the other has a larger friction disc but it says it is heavy duty. I was wondering if i can fit the larger (heavy duty) one or should i go for the smaller one. advise would be great. Thanks in advance
  13. Hi I am currently on holiday with my land rover, i am unexpectedly needing to replace the thermostat, however i am unable to order a new bleed screw/plug. I have read that these often break when unscrewing. I dont what to break it off as i will get stuck without a car. i was wondering if i am able to bleed the system by leaving the top off the expansion tank and squeezing the pipes so that i can avoid the risk of breaking the screw, or is there a way that i can avoid breaking the screw. thanks in advance for the advice
