  1. Not sure but the outriggers are in the same position I think and that is going to be the main mount
  2. Hi all Just been on Fleebay looking at a set of rock sliders for a Disco 1 which I bid on (after an evenning in the local), they state they are off a 5 door and mine is a 3 door. I didn't win them at the time but have since received a second chance offer and (being more sober now) I'm thinking about it. My question is :- how different are they, would they be modifyable? They are the type that bolt to the outriggers and the sills and they price is reasonable. Any help would be VERY welcome
  3. Interesting method using exploding duck oil to remove it but do you think it was a wise move telling Nige with his reputation! Wouldn't be much good if the diff was still in the vehicle though, that high velocity lump could cause some expensive holes!
  4. Heat, heat and then a bit more heat before you use the slide hammer, that was my discovery on both occasions when I had to take mine out. On the second occasion I didn't put it back in, I changed to a prop with UJ's both ends.

  6. Just a thought, when my central locking plays up (as it does from time to time) I press the unlock (or is the lock) button 3 times quickly and it seems to reset itself and behave for a while longer. Can't remember where I heard about this but it seems to work. Here's hoping!
  7. I sense another 'How to' coming to a forum near you!
  8. Hi What I'm looking for is the part number for the rear diff flange which can be fitted to a 300 TDi Discovery so I can fit a 200 TDi propshaft to it. The one I have taken off is a multi-spline jobby but the spare ones I already have on some old 10 spline diffs has only 4 splines . Also if any of you nice people has a spare I could perhaps purchase that woiuld be cool! The one I took off is on the left so I need another one with a similar spline but with 4 bolts for a standard propshaft. Thanks in advance Andy
  9. Hi All I'm having a bit of a clearout and came accross an old inlet manifold. My problem is I can't remember what it came off, it's either a 2.5NAD or a 2.5TD, can anybody help. While we're on the subject of a clearout, if any of you members are interested in any of my items on e-blag just message me though this site and I'm sure we can come to an arrangement. My ID is Andy_W_1966. Now the interesting, trying to get thew pic to load ........ here goes ..... Hope you can se it! Cheers Andy
  10. Rich, I presume you can open the boot the same way by holding up the lock button? You could probably open it by holding the key in the unlocked position but if you use the 'zapper' it returns to the locked position before you can open the door. Sounds like the internal lock spring, they are available on e-bay but Landrover want to sell you a complete lock assy. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Landrover-Discovery-door-lock-springs-3-door-set-/200655395280?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2eb7fe59d0 The kit comes with a good set of instructions on how to fit As for a link between the two problems it is likely that they just wore out at the same rate. HTH Andy
  11. I replaced mine with one of the back of a Defender, much cheaper, just needed a little modification.
  12. Thanks Phil, that settles it, it's a series 3 heavy duty steering kit. To be coming to the e-bay site near you shortly unless anybody wishes to make me an offer. PM me. Ta Andy
  13. Me again, just found the tape measure and it's 28 1/4 inches long with a Defender type thread in it so I'm thinking it may have been shortenned?
