had the gear box removed and the flex plate fell out in three peices the garage said he could not believe it was still driving, very lucky escape me thinks.

hi guys, got excessive play on steering,i dont drive the car that often and my other half says its fine but there is a lot of play,i have recently changed a leaky seal on the bottom of the steering box and replaced the steel pipes from the pump although i dont think this would affect the play,any pointers would be appreciated,arms or bushes or somthing ad a look round the site but cant find anything cheers.

bin a while but any help appreciated, d2 4ltr v8,got vibration when i rev it above 3000rpm ive been told it could be the flex plate in the bell housing and its not a cheap job, its an auto box,what can i expect to happen if left and does anyone have a part no,or picture of the part, i am also after a haynes manual if anyones got 1 cheers guys.

the tester said he was not allowed to do the test on lpg although its been done for the last 3 years i have had the car, and your right no problems.i will be asking questions thankyou.

will do but bare with me i will have to revisit as the print out is not very clear,no ink in his printer.

i had the same problem same engine with multi point system anyway £800 pound later turned out it had 2 different size nozzles on the injector rails 2.5ml on 1 rail and 3.0ml on the other so the engine was constantly trying to compensate (advice is make sure you get someone who knows what they are doing with lpg) hope this helps.

thanx up front,just got d2 4.0L v8 with multi point injection system back from MOT failed on emmisions,lamda sensors reading to high getting various advice on what to do,Has anyone had this problem?and a possible solution that will definatly work.cheers guys.

i had the same problem,i took it out of the car completely cleaned up the jagged bits of plastic on the cassette and re-greased any moving parts on the machine been fine ever since,18 month ago.

merry christmas and happy new year guys an thankyou in advance.....i have been trying to buy a map sensor for my 2000 4L v8 for a while part number AEB 025 but cannot seem to find one its for the steffanelli lpg system which is installed it keeps turning off the supply of gas thus resulting in me having to turn off the engine to reset the system maybe 3 times in 10 mile,i end up just leaving it on petrol which is starting to cost any help will be appreciated thankyou.

i had the exact same problem on my 2000 v8 petrol and lpg turned out it was firstly the wrong ht leads the ends were changed around that time for my model it was not a direct spark in the dist,then my machanic had noticed there were two different size lpg nozzles on my injector rails so the engine was constantly trying to compensate without success the brass nuts which connect to the injectors have notches on them 2mm,3mm ,3.5mm etc there was also a loose push fit plastic nut only slightly loose on top of the plenum chamber to the left, once these were rectified and set up on the computer its been fine not looked back this was about a year ago it run sweet ever since.hope this helps.

my v8 has a clunking when i first start it up coming from gearbox area only last a second or 2 should i be worried?

hello, does anyone no if the front wheelbearings on my disco11 year 2000 are serviceable just recently past mot but he said they were noisy no play or owt just noisy any input greatly appreciated. newbi
