  1. As you were so kind so to take the mick about the Flemming Arms, and as you were so kind as to offer to help with my Rangie suspension, would you like a selection of rachet straps brought over to the Flemming Arms this Thursday, on loan as I'm going to Sodbury and you seem semi trustworthy. Bill
  2. Well, what did you expect, I owe a Landrover, thank you, see you where. Bill
  3. Tougue in cheek, been looking for the shire club meet, last I saw was at the Flemming Arms at Swaythling on the first Thursday, does this still hold as its Easter, cheers Bill
  4. OK I know I'm a numpty, the Rangey was running rough on LPG, symptoms of fuel starvation so I cleaned the inline matrixes and decided to clean the filter in the main solenoid valve, no problem, bleed off the gas undo the bolt that retains the valve and------- dropped the bl***y thing, can I find it, two days I've searched, mirrors you name it, anyway anyone out there know a localish supplier where I can go cap in hand for either a new fitting or at the worst a new solenoid valve, I'm in Hampshire and the valve has VALTEK printed on it. I tried Valtek on the internet, but the company didn't seem to know what I was talking about so I'm looking at LPG type people. Cheers for any help Bill
  5. Hi Mark, I'm running 255x85x16 BFG's MT's on my Disco, I've fitted them on reversed Disco rims so I need flares, but personally I wouldn't like to run anything wider unless I was going for a serious lift system, perhaps body lift as well, plus steering lock I would think could be a big problem, one of the reasons I went for reversed rims, anyway if you've got em just stick them on and try them out, I'd be interested in your comments, but personally I'm not going to go bigger than what I've got fitted now. Cheers Bill
  6. If you want the original colour, under the bonnet on the plate is a number, if you go to your local paint distributor with that number they should be able to supply you, my local shop mixes it and gives you anything from an aerosol up. Good luck, I admit I'm carp at paintwork, hence my love of chequer plate.
  7. Hi, wessex Hillrunners, slindon, blueish disco, 255x85 BFG, external rollcage, Pompey dockyard, must try to get out more if the nurses will let me.
  8. Strange that, we buy plates in, we cant even do a weld prep, we get another company to do that for us, but we do manage to build to build destroyers, aircraft carriers and other big things.
  9. Got a Southdown top off the stand last year at Sodbury, talked nicely to the man, 20 quid.
  10. Hi, thats exactly what I did, 300 V8 Disco, cant exactly remember if I split it at a union or I cut the pipe and used a commpression fitting, but with a bit of careful measuring and a trip to my local hydraulic company got two flexy hydraulic pipes made to length and just lifted the existing cooler, cost about 80 quid for the pipes, been on a couple of years now and no problems.
  11. Yes, don't bother, bought one that was very similar, just gave it away, the only thing that was any good was the light bit and the compressor, a torch is cheaper and the compressor was well slow, as for jump starting a Landy, your having a laugh. Thats my two penneth worth. Bill
  12. Cheers would appreciate that, even a name will do, Emsworth is local enough that I'll go searching. Bill
  13. Exactly, metered the coil, thats OK, no short, checked the brush assemble, thats not shorting, so methinks it must be in the armature, there endeth my knowledge, time for the pros.
  14. Anyone out there who can recommend a repair, rewind company in the Hampshire,Sussex area for a winch motor. New motor bought at Sodbury which worked fine and then for some reason now only turns slowly and I think is pulling a lot of amps, it stalled the engine when I hit the in out switch, I know the contactors etc are all OK as it runs the winch with no problems but when I connect it to the new motor, yuck. Think it needs to go to the professionals so any recommendations. Cheers bill
  15. Fluke if you want a really good one, but not cheap, or Machinemart sell a quite reasonable one, about twenty quid if my memory serves me right.
