  1. Hi guys, happy new year to you all! I've just noticed my rear screen heater has stopped working on my 04 td4 and was wondering how expensive it is to replace the whole screen if that's what is needed? Hopefully it won't come to that and it's just a simple wiring/fuse fault. Cheers guys
  2. In recent years the popularity of the 2wd Crossover has grown to the point where manufacturers can't afford to miss out. I think this is LR's attempt to cash in. 22k though.....mmmm
  3. What! you mean there's a manual?
  4. I get this now and then, usually when I open the doors and get in I hear nothing, but occasionally a beeping sound emanates from the dashboard until I turn the ignition key . I always thought it had something to do with the alarm activating and deactivating ?
  5. Thanks for posting the info Fridge, it's definitely worth knowing that this isn't a serious problem and that it's a simple fix. Much appreciated! Sorry if I was a little to sharp with the reply, it just boggles me why anyone would want to join that forum. Thanks again.
  6. I really can't be bothered with that forum. Seems to be run by defender and discovery owners with serious maturity issues.
  7. I'm not so sure it'll be brownie points i'd be earning when she's got WD40 all over her dress lol. Thanks for the idea though!
  8. I wish i'd gone that route for my Sport and bought a set of winter wheels, those look great. All 4 of my current tyres were extremely worn so i decided to replace them with 235/50/18 Falken STZ01's for £470. The difference in grip in snow was amazing but i can't imagine it would be anywhere near as good as having as set of those. Maybe next year.
  9. Lol, i can see that going pear shaped when she gets wd40 all over her dress lol.
  10. I disagree, the sport handles and drives far better than the other models in normal/wet road conditions. The low profile tyres and harder suspension gives it amazing cornering and handling for a 4x4 and thats coming from a Golf Gti. I'm not saying it handles as good as a GTi but it's a huge improvement over the other models IMO. Road noise wise i wouldnt say there was any difference. The TD4 is also reputed as being the best engine to go for. The only thing i would agree with is the wider wheels of the sport do tend to follow ruts a little more, but its really not an issue, the car is easy to control. If you intend to do serious off roading, i'd probably recommend a different model as the sport sits 30mm lower. But then it does look great for it.
  11. A positive thing ive noticed about owning a Freelander, it seems the doors never freeze no matter what the temperature outside. It was -14 the other day, my girlfriends golf was like a block of ice and it took her 10 minutes before she could actually get in the car, you should have seen her face as i walked over to mine and opened it up straight away, plus with the front screen heater i was on my way whilst she was still scraping the ice...bwahahaha. I'm not really that cruel lol.
  12. Since the cold weather in the past 2 months, i've had 2 occasions where ive started my 04 TD4 sport in the morning and the TC and HDC lights have stayed on for about 10 mins, then gone off. Could ice forming inside the car cause this because i havent had a problem since?
  13. Am I right in thinking that the heater runs constantly? Like the above post states, I've driven 30+ miles and find the heater is still going when I park up. I would have thought once the engine has reached optimal temperature the heater should switch off?
  14. Thanks for that, I will get that checked first. Much appreciated.
  15. How old is your Freelander and how old are the wheels?
