  1. have you checked the power going to winch with a multimeter? is should drag you along of grass fine
  2. something not right there,Im on standard motor, i snap my rope before mine stalls and it drags my truck over anything. . the splined shaft motors are the late type, have you check that the winch is not full of rust and has oil in it, when you took cap of end of the motor were all the brushed free and making a good contact? and how long were they? could also check earths always over looking but is a must! and lead size is up to the job
  3. http://www.pneusol.co.uk/mac.html they do mac stuff
  4. i am going to go arb instead but if any one wants this set up with diff and axle case for not much money let me know and they can have it told bloke i got it off and he said sell it. let me know
  5. i came across a 24 spline kam air locker (that right air locker) which i didnt even know they had made, works a lot like new type but has a box half way down the axle and has a air operated fork the slides a shaft on or off the flange that locks the diff, just wondered if any one on here has one or tried one so i can fine out if its worth ago
  6. i power coated my drum black and had the ali part bead blasted then sprayed with clear petrol resistant lacquer, looks great
  7. they both have pro and cons the biggest is the cost, hydraulic would need a pto or belt driven pump. If he is starting out i would say a standard warn 8274 up front and goldfish on the back. Both good winches easy to install cheap to maintain and could to most challenges fine. the giggle twin motor set up is a great bit of kit and i hope to get one soon, have a look at this clip that thing has some power. think gp setup would winch faster than hydraulic aswell.
