  1. Thanks Sheltie I haven't had chance to drive it on the road yet, but it seems lively enough. I couldn't refuse it at £250 with 12 months MOT! Time will tell.
  2. To resurrect this thread........ I have just parted with a small wad of cash to purchase a 2.5 VM engined range Rover. I am very aware of the bad press that the engine rightly or wrongly has attracted. My question is, what engine will be most simple to replace it with if and when the current engine dies? A 200tdi sounds good to me, but will it fit the current gearbox, or will I need to swap that as well? I understand that a V8 is more or less a straight swap, but I don't want to go down that route. Any advice would be very welcome.
  3. Will anyone be going to the Punch Hunt at Buildwas? Should be fun and probably very very slippery. www.shropshireoffroadclub.com
  4. Thanks Dave. Spot on! If it is what you would prefer I will make a donation to the forum. PM sent. Thanks again, Martin
  5. Thank you!!! I will refund your postage when it arrives. I will PM you with my address. Martin
  6. I am in the process of replacing the bulkhead on my daughters 90 and have lost a small but vital part. I have mislaid the 'pin' from the middle of the ignition/steering lock, it's the bit that goes from the steering lock part into the electrical switch. Does anyone know where I can get a new one without having to buy a complete new switch/lock assembly? (it a 200tdi by the way) Thanks.
  7. Shropshire Offroad Club are running another driving day at Farley Quarry near Much Wenlock. There will be a 'Punch Hunt' again, plus other things to do. Prizes to be won! Tess will be serving superb burgers and hot dogs so you won't need your butties. All makes welcome, no MOT or tax required (Trailered cars!!!) so long as they are safe. £25 for the day. Site will be open at 10:00, scrutineering from 09:30. www.shropshireoffroadclub.co.uk Anyone fancy it?
  8. Well we had a great day! 60+ motors, good atmosphere, and good entertainment provided by the more amphibiously minded drivers! (Andy from Roean included) Even the sun shone - briefly.
  9. If you don't know when the belt was last changed, change it! As far as I understand, the belt problem was never one that affected all engines. My engine (age unknown) hasn't got the blob of yellow, but HAS had a modified pulley fitted to prevent the belt sliding off the pulley and shredding itself. When you take the front cover off, if you find a large build up of rubber 'dust', you can be sure that your engine suffers the problem and will need some modified parts.
