  1. Thanks Fridge, Just shocked at how bad it's corroded in 12 months. I know that's only external. Any recommendations on whose rrc pump to buy? Bearmach all makes or britpart
  2. Well went to start the evil old beast this weekend as the MOT is due. Hasn't turned a wheel since she disgraced herself after the last one nearly breaking down on the way home (less than a mile from the home to the station). Anyway that time turned out the pump had fallen apart. It's an extended Rangie classic in a underseat tank. Anyway replaced it with a new one and all was well but didn't get round to using it with finances being what they are. Anyway this weekend thought what the hell try it now, lots of churn but no fire. Usual checks and no fuel being the result. Power at the pump and popped it out. Looked 10 years old rather than 12 months corroded and slimy. Stuck it across the battery an nothing. So can only assume this one has died as well having not moved the car a metre. Think I need to drain and change the fuel. But any recommendations for pumps for a megasquirted 3.9 efi. Inline pump and pickup tube? Part numbers? Thanks in advance
  3. How do I get into setup do I need a disk? Says need to do setup but does not seem to respond or give me any options
  4. Thanks for all the input. A bit of time today has cleared up the problem. The fuel pump wasn't delivering much fuel. So after pulling it out the hose and become disconnected the filter end had broken. It's an underseal tank with a modified/extended range rover pump. So a new modified pump has been fitted and she fired up like a dream. Perhaps my wiring ain't so bad after all. Just need to fix the laptop now
  5. Thanks Peter will give it a go if I can find an xp setup disk. Waiting on some parts, but changing the regulator has not made any difference. Still won't reven up and run for very long.
  6. Does anyone have the part numbers for the oring and grey seal on the fuel pressure regulator on a v8 fuel rail please. Many thanks Mark
  7. MAP hose is connected. Won't run long enough unfortunately to get a decent log. Thinking it must be more mechanical. Do have a spare regulator which I might try. See if I can borrow a gauge to measure fuel pressure to see if it's the pump.
  8. Right well its been a while. Apologes for only appearing when I have problems. The Landie has been buried under a pile of stuff for a while and has only covered 32 miles since its last mot. Eeeek. Anyway decided to bite the bullet and MOT ready for the summer, now it has finished its role as a storage role as a shelf for the bits for various other DIY and home projects. Anyway a quick run down the road and all seemed well and dropped off at the local garage. Anxious wait, and finally came the call. Its passed (Yayyy), but....... does the fuel gauge lie. Well yes a bit was the reply, but it had half a tank and it doesn't need that for an MOT even though its a V8 with a tiny tank. Why I asked. Well it appeared the garage and run it up the road outside to do the brake test and as they got to the top it spluttered and wouldn't rev, so they coasted back down the hill and parked it up wondering if it had run out of fuel. Thought not but they had a look. Anyway they disconnected the coolant sensor and said it seemed to rev if a bit spluttery. So picked it up and limped home. Really didn't think it would make it coughing its way up the slope to home. Well parked it in the garage in disgust and allowed it to resume its role as a storage cupboard. After looking at it for a few days thought I better have another go, so found my old laptop which I had used previously booted it up and got an error saying 'Invalid configuration - run setup'. Right so that's not going to work then. Resort to second laptop scrabble around trying to find the disk and usb driver email from Nigel and see if I can remember how to change the config so it reads in Celsius not Fahrenheit and find out which port it wants to talk to. Anyway after a bit of messing plugged in fired up (laptop at least) and see if its the sensors. Well it all appears ok but it doesn't really want to run. It coughs and splutters and doesn't want to go. Cant see anything wrong see pics and log attached. So thinking it may be more mechanical (my superstitious mind distrusts electronics, but disliked the carbs more) Wondering if its fuel pump or regulator, though can hear the pump cut in and stop. Any thoughts, as I it would be nice to make more use of the old heap this year. datalog201706041240.xls

  10. I have a vee belt v8 and it is tight. Used a 2 litre Mondeo single fan. Needed a little trim to the cowl around the top hose, and the thread for the viscous removing from the water pump, but fits fine and runs an x fan.
  11. The play seems to be the box. Interesting that it fits on the same holes, the garage seemed to suggest that was not the case. Any suggestions for a supplier for a replacement?
  12. Right well, working my way round the little jobs post mot and work on the wrinkles. One issue has been play in the steering. When driving down along if you hit a bump or pot hole and the car lurches trying to catch it due to the play seems quite alarming. Feels like you would end up on the other lane. Now I know there is a bit of its a landrover but seems worse than my old 200 tdi. Anyway whilst it was in the local independent for some other work, they had a look, and adjusted the box up as much as possible without it locking up. And whilst it was better its still not confidence inspiring. Now they mentioned that the 6 bolt fitted have a tendency to be worse than the 4 bolt. Now the chassis is a galv one so don't fancy cutting it about to fit a 4 bolt one. So what are the options? Just change it for another one? I have heard lots of stories about replacement bits being worse than the bits replaced so any recommendations Thanks

  14. So if the AFR gauge in megatune with a narrowband is a bit of a waste is it possible to define a gauge that just gives you voltage? Would that make it easier to get an idea of where you are, or is there just too much noise on the signal. Interested as I am going to not the 3.9 with luck next week and as its been off the road for so long the tuning will have to take place on the way to the not station as its not had a not since fitting megasquirt
