  1. Thanks Escape Regarding the greasing of the ignition - do you mean to actually insert grease into the key hole itself?? Thanks for advice

Hi Guys My car is a 1999 2.5 DSE The problem is:- Though ignition key removed - warning message and sounds indicate that 'ignition key left in' Upon exiting the warning gives audible sound to acknowledge same. I am unable to lock doors with the remote key and have to lock doors using key manually. When locked audible sounds. To unlock doors the remote key works fine. Upon opening drivers door, audible sounds and message states 'ignition key in'. Car starts and stops without any problems. Red light flashes as long as tab is pressed on key fob, both lock/unlock. Vehicle alarm set red flashing light operates when vehicle locked. I have tried fixes: Checking the lock barrel freely works: Manually setting sync codes to key with battery disconnected and connected: Checking correct movement of all door locks WD40 etc: Please any further ideas gratefully appreciated
  3. Had this on mine - first I had the testbook reset the ECU height adjuster as the fron right valve was stuck open. This removed the bells and whistles and lights. However, vehicle was slow to raise to normal height. also loste height over a stand still with engine not running Changed the air bags which were perished and because I had accepted the error of slow to charge, I needed a new pump. You can buy these factory reconditioned with 12 months warranty. Got mine on Ebay. Since seen them cheaper. Go for the testbook diagnosis
  4. Drivers door will not open from inside of car without the use and a quick hurry to use handle before it resets locked again. Tried the 2 bips on fob for the deadlock and I hear it coming on in passenger door so not sure if this means that there is an actuator in drivers door that affects remainder of locks???????????
  5. Thanks for the heads up. It would appear that the front passenger door deadlock has locked and stuck on. Have tried using WD40 down the button aperture. Have tried lifting the button manually and then using door handle to open, nothing. When I try to open the sill button manually the other door locks remain locked. If I leave a door open then with the exception of the F passenger door, the others remain unlocked.
  6. Hi all. Problem began today after no signs of hiccups whatsoever. Inadvertantly pressed the lock button on key fob whilst engine was running. Resul? When pressing unlock on remote out of ignition! The locks on 3 doors and tailgate actuate as they should. Front Passenger door button rises but remains solidly locked. ALL locks then re lock within 3 seconds or less To gain access and exit car, have to press the remote unlock button and quickly open doors using handles. Locking then comes in again and locks all unopened doors. Tried the same with F passeger door but will not budge. I am disabled and fid this a darn nuisance. any ideas guys?? Tried using spare keys but no difference. Tried reprogramming key fob but no difference or change
  7. No water ingress and tried the disconnected battery overnight
  8. Hi I am writing this on behalf of a pal who owns an 02 TD4. Recently he has changed the tank fuel pump. He disconnected the battery first and carried out the job himself. Now, after succesfully installing the pump, engine starts fine and drives good. However, there are no instruments in the binnacle working at all!!? Tried locking the doors and giving time wait to see if, but still the same. Taken the ECU plugs off and refitted them exactly but still nothing?? any ideas?? Most appreciated TiA
  9. Had similar problems with my DSE 1999. An old boy gave me a cure and it works! Well for me Buy a gallon of paraffion amnd wait till your fuel tank is half full. add the paraffin and take car for a blast. This has worked for me now for the past 4 MOT's
  10. Hi and Hello to all A newbie here! I need a drawing of the valve block with the relevant solenoids and which represents each valve. Couldn't find anything like on Rave disk Cheers
